Employees allege that RON KORE continued to report to work at the SOBEYS he franchises in FONTHILL while visibly and noticeably sick with COVID-19. RON KORE had obvious symptoms as far back as March 23, and yet had repeatedly shown up to his store for a period of four weeks. Another employee has now tested positive for COVID-19. Employees are frustrated that the store has not been shut for a deep cleaning, though Sobeys Spokespeople assert that the location is in compliance with all safety stipulations. Employees continue to clean the store, as aligned with local health directives. Employees and staff are deeply stressed by these events. Staff will not be blanket-tested at this point in time.
In addition, RON KORE is a member of the Pelham Town Council, which held a Town Hall meeting attended by RON while he was ill with COVID-19. Multiple individuals attending this Town Hall meeting subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. One individual has since died. Just as he repeatedly showed up to his SOBEYS franchise while ill, RON KORE was insistent on attending in person Town Hall meetings, actions that were clearly detrimental to other counsellors.
